See our website on how to do this www.pulltabarchaeology.com! But if you want to support us with 1 dollar, you are truly in-crowd! You will enjoy early access to new posts and patron only video's on our progress! And I will provide updates on how many pull tabs arrived by mail.

Ah, you've figured out that there's more to it than just fun. You recognize its true value! Indeed, there's a sustainist and activist  idea behind pull tab archaeology which has to with demonstrating the power global of communities with regard to archaeology. Thanks for your help in spreading that idea! You will get 20% discount on the poster and (if we get there, I am not sure yet if we make one, our pull tab community t-shirt).

About

* See http://www.pulltabarchaeology.com *

Hi, my name is Jobbe. i am an archaeologist and create contemporary archaeologies.

In 2014 my colleagues and I had some beers and laughs and imagined a typology of pull tabs (ring pulls in UK) for use in contemporary archaeology digs and for metal detectorists. A REAL typology, but with a grin on our faces to even dare such an attempt. No archaeologist would consider this seriously...we thought. The same year and with some help I launched an actual typology vs 1 with pull tabs found in the Netherlands. Intrigued that we collected nine distinctly different types in no-time, we realised there must have existed many more!

Geekiness kicked in, got serious and proved contagious: soon colleagues and international friends started to send us new types! Speedious updates of the typology followed up to version 1.7, but we just couldn't keep up. With new stock from Czech Republic and Germany the totally new 'European' design was outdated within the time of a beer or two. Then a dream emerged and determination grew: we will go global and create a Pull Tab Typology of the World!

And yes, YOU can join the pull tab archaeology community through this channel, by sending me your pull tabs or by pledging! We will create this typology, together and who knows what we'll do next!?

See http://www.pulltabarchaeology.com for more information

PS: It is my genuine belief all research material should be open source and openly available to everyone. You don't need to pledge to see the important stuff. However, I will occasionally make patron-only posts to express gratitude, post bonus material, or ask questions to the utmost in-crowd, for example if I need advise on how to proceed with this project . I'm only human, I don;t know everything myself ;-). Share a buck and you can join the conversation.

Goals
8 of 20 patrons
This is a fun project and fun needs little money to begin with. Twenty patrons may seem almost nothing, but is equivalent to the price of hosting and maintaining a basic version of the pulltabarchaeology.com website and keeping it open source and free to use.  That's our most basic desire!
