Hi, I'm Mikey, also known as quantumdot around the internet. I've been playing tabletop roleplaying games for just a couple years now, but I've always been interested in designing systems and games--which is probably why I've fallen in love with tabletop RPG design. For me, designing TTRPGs is the perfect marriage of creative outlets like art, graphic design, world-building, and systems design, all wrapped up in a pretty accessible package! Not everyone can play a video game, but almost anyone can use their imagination to enter another world.

I've been designing TTRPGs since fall of 2016. When I started, I was doing it in secret or streaming bits and pieces of development here and there on my Twitch channel. However, I wanted to open up the development process, both for interested folks to see my work and to give feedback.

All content posted will be made public to followers after a period of Early Access; please see the Rewards panel for details. I want everyone to be able to see my work and participate in the feedback process, whether they can contribute monetarily or not. Currently I'm working on:

  • My Forged in the Dark game, No Place Like Home, about exploring the secrets in small communities that hide behind well-meaning smiles and closed doors. This hack is inspired by things such as Twin Peaks, Silent Hill, Stranger Things, Riverdale, Oxenfree, and Night in the Woods.
  • Crash Course, a micro-RPG about aliens and feelings.
  • Various hacks for Dungeon World
  • GM prep, worldbuilding, stat blocks, etc. for the games I'm currently running.
  • ...and more stuff coming down the line!

Thank you so much for stopping by my page. I hope you consider following and supporting me in my pursuit to design and develop tabletop RPGs! Also, feel free to join my Discord community, where I often talk about my design thoughts. I look forward to seeing what we can make together.

Goals
100% complete
At $50 per month, I'll be able to keep doing the stuff from previous goals, as well as be able to save up for a new Wacom Intuos tablet to replace my old, failing Graphire that I can't use without cramping up my hand.

With it, I'll be able to more easily create art for my books in addition to text, and I'll start sharing maps and other things I create for my games with Patrons!
