Hi, I'm Gina Stella dell'Assunta! Thanks for taking a moment to check out my Patreon page.

A little about me & my work:
I am a writer, performer, writing instructor, and cultural worker from San Francisco, with deep roots in both local & international queer & trans, sex worker, and disability communities. Presently, I'm hard at work on How To Have A Body, a book of experimental prose & poetry about the intersections between sexuality & disability; and The Hustle, a non-fiction narrative about navigating U.S. government social services as a disabled person living in poverty in my rapidly gentrifying hometown. Please take a look at my blog & fcbk page for a more in-depth & comprehensive look at my last 20 years of writing, performance, teaching, cultural production, and activism.

Why I'm here:
I am disabled by several chronic illnesses (including fibromyalgia & CFIDS/ME), and am unable to work full-time. As of June 2017, after over 3 years of waiting, my Disability case was (again) denied. I have filed an appeal, but these processes unfortunately move at a glacial pace; actually receiving Disability benefits is likely to take literal years at this juncture -- if it happens at all. I am currently living off of an extremely modest government benefits package ($425/month, all of which goes towards my rent); as of June 2017, this is my only source of income. I have created this Patreon page to help make the ends meet while living with debilitating chronic illness & chronic pain and without a safety net.

What you'll get as a monthly supporter:
- Original writing (from How To Have A Body, The Hustle, and other works in progress).
- Original performance/reading videos & vlogs (everything from me on an actual stage to me reading into my webcam from bed).
- Original writing prompts (if you've ever wanted to attend one of my writing classes, but aren't local to the Bay Area, this is a lovely way to work with me from afar).
- Other content as time & energy allow.

Thanks so very much for your interest & support! <3 <3 <3

Goals
$247 of $325 per month
Having HALF my rent & utilities paid allows me to ease up on hustling hard while living with several disabling chronic illnesses. That means I'll have more time & energy to focus on writing here.
