About Rad Child Podcast

Rad Child Podcast helps give grown-ups the tools to have open, honest conversations with kids about almost anything. In the past we've covered topics like how to talk to kids about race, gender, disability, body image, grief, mental health, and so much more! Your host Seth Day meets with a different panel of guests each episode to discuss topics from their own experience with children as parents, educators, nannies, doulas, professionals, etc. Guests will talk on topics they have experienced personally. Every single person has a different lived experience. The goal of this podcast is to create a space where those experiences can coexist so we can take them and use them to help raise a generation of compassionate, open, rad children.

Your host, Seth Day, is a transgender nanny who has been working in childcare for the past 10+ years. He is originally from New York, but currently lives in Montreal where he nannies two awesome 2 1/2  year old twins. His passion for childcare started back when he was a highschooler babysitting the kids next-door. Since then, he has obtained a BA in art education, and worked as a K-12 educator, museum educator, art teacher, and nanny. He loves children's literature, especially LGBTQIA+ picture books. In fact, he has quite the personal collection he loves to read with the kids he works with. He is an active member of the LGBTQIA+ Community, and organizes many local events in Montreal. In his free time, he likes baking, playing ukulele, and painting portraits.

The money raised here will go towards all the little things that will help keep the podcast going! Rad Child Podcast is committed to hiring and paying folks from marginalized communities for their work. Funds raised will allow us to cover our costs which include paying our editor, our website fees, hosting site fees, and more. Any extra money will go to advertising, merch, or be invested in the podcast in other ways. Thanks for helping to make Rad Child Podcast a reality!
