kooltool is a program aimed at making game development easy, fun, and expressive. it is being developed with the following priniciples in mind:
edit everything - images, dialogue, scripts, music, sounds, images, interface - if it's in your kooltool game you can edit it in kooltool in context - what you see is what you get, edit tiles and character graphics by painting directly onto the map workspace - do everything in kooltool, if you like. save notes, annotate maps and scripts. draw concept art off-screen indestructible - you can always run your game and nothing you do can break your project. ignore the instructions and explore without fear
try it here!
if you support kooltool financially i'll first use it to help offset the costs of spreading the word about kooltool and meeting people who can give me new and varied perspectives on user needs and design perspectives - i went to egx recently and it was really great for that!
if i get enough support i could be able to dedicate a small portion of my working life to making kooltool, which would be amazing and really help things along! working evenings after a days programming something else is pretty taxing :'(
