WYIT is about a boy marked for death, a rogue Legionnaire, and discovering friendship in a dark world.

Set in a Dieselpunk-Fantasy age of mysticism and machinery, WYIT could be summarized as "Redwall meets Terminator II, set in the aeronautic world of Nausicaä".

Currently the book is about 50% inked, and the end page count will be approximately 180-190 fully-colored pages. In the near future I'll be launching an Indiegogo campaign to crowdfund the final stages of the book's production as a high quality printed graphic novel.

Most of you know me from my various comics or world-building projects over the years, such as FLIGHT ComicsAvatar: The Last Airbender, and the Empire of the New Sun collab project with the artist Jennadelle. From 2009 to 2015 I was in the Marines, did one tour to Afghanistan as a Personal Security Detail, and drew many pieces for the Marine Corps Combat Art program. Transitioning from the Corps and readjusting to the art world was a very rough period of my life, but what came out of that ordeal was WYIT.

Originally this started as an untitled short-term project to keep myself focused while I got my life back together. Pretty soon it became a sweeping adventure with two unlikely characters and a world that I completely fell in love with. I think you will too.

SO WHY PATREON?

I've been funding this book's production mostly out of my own capital; driving a delivery truck, Craigslist hustling, selling art originals, a few gracious KoFi donations and support from my livestream audiences.

But not everyone's an art collector, uses KoFi or watches livestreams. Multiple people have suggested I set up a Patreon for this reason, even just a basic one as a monthly tip-jar to offset business expenses... And fund my prodigious coffee consumption.

So, for starters I'm keeping this Patreon cozy-simple and focusing on making WYIT. In time I might add some more tiers and exclusive perks, so long as they don't take time away from finishing the book, which is what you all want in the first place!

Finishing WYIT is my #1 priority, but I've got some cool ideas for Patrons-only content that should work within my production schedule. We'll take it one step at a time.

Stay tuned, and thank you for your support.

FAQ

"Will this be a webcomic?"
Right now there's no plans for a webcomic or digital release. This story is intended to be a physical printed book.

"What age group is this suitable for?"
WYIT is PG-rated, so probably ages 8 and up. It's an adventure dealing with intense depictions of good and evil, but will have no profanity, or explicit violence/sexual content. It's the story I wish I had as a kid, but it's serious enough that adults will love it too.

"Okay cool, WHERE CAN I BUY IT?!"
I'm working on it!! The book is still in progress. Once I get enough done, I'll be launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to fund its printing, shipping, and future projects.
