Once Upon A Time:

An incredibly cute baby girl was born in Mexico.  Everybody adored her and lovingly made faces and funny noises, because apparently babies dig that crazy stuff.

I was not that girl.  I was the baby in the corner with lots of dark hair on the top of her head and already questioning her life choices inside her incubator (I was a preemie).

Then nothing of interest happened for the next 20 plus years.  Well a few things happened here and there, I guess. There was the whole hot dog cart accident, and at one point I got bunted across a busy intersection by a bus; and, oh yeah, the time I was chased down a couple of blocks by a guy with a bat.

Anyway, remind me to tell you about it sometime.

More to the point, art has always been part of my life.  My mother used to draw herself (Don't worry, she's alive, she just doesn't draw anymore)  But art was always treated as a tool for homework and maybe your job.  It was, to put it simply, not a practical career choice.   So I had this skill I did nothing fun with until my younger brother came home with some comics ranging from independently published sci-fi/fantasy comics to Elfquest and I said, oh well, let's have a look.

I was hooked and soon, as these things go, I found myself doing fan art and then my own stuff.

People became afraid.

But the future ... refused to change.  Because it still sucked and it still required me to get a desk job to pay for ...oh I don't know ... food, utilities and be responsible and blah, blah, blah.

Why Patreon:

Because, why not?, its a sad state of affairs that I have never had enough confidence in myself to -well- encourage myself, before.  Fact is, I love telling stories.  I love drawing.

Also, the sad state of affairs is that regular employment is becoming harder to come by and life, being life, has made it that I need to find ways to supplement medical bills for my small family.

If I have to kill myself doing something making money, it might as well be for something I love.

And all of this sounded great in my head and what not but yeah, its worth a shot, eh?
