Welcome to my Patreon page!

I have been fascinated by Regenerative Agriculture and Food since 2011!

Intrigued by the question: would it be possible to store carbon in soils while producing nutrient dense food? It sounded crazy the first time I heard it, but I decided to find out more!!

I have been recording podcast interviews (60+) with over 45k streams, since the summer of 2016 and shared them via Soundcloud: Investing in Regenerative Agriculture. (you can also find them on Spotify, Google Play, Apple Podcasts)

Every episode takes a few days to prepare, record, edit and spread. I work on the podcasts next to my paid day job. Because of support from Patrons I'm currently posting an episode online every two weeks and a summary or short episode every other week!

Now I see space for so much more! I would love to take this further with more interviews and more depth if I could dedicate more time to it.

My ask: if these podcasts have been of value to you and if you have the means, I invite you to join my Patreon community and help me to grow this! Thank you!

With your support I can dedicate time to dive deeper into:
  • Nutrient dense food (and their connection to healthy soils)
  • Ecosystem/landscape size regeneration and the tools necessary for that
  • Payment systems for farmers for the carbon and water stored and biodiversity created
  • Transition finance fund managers, investment vehicles, green bonds, crowdfunding to finance it all!
Your help is key to make this happen!

Why Regen food and ag?
Since 2011 I have been active in the regenerative food and agriculture space. Focused on people working to make the agriculture and food industry part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

I believe a radically different food and agriculture system offers huge potential for regenerating soil, people, local communities and ecosystems. And during this regenerative transition, producing lots of nutrient dense food and generating a fair financial return for investors.

This can lower our current carbon footprint dramatically and even has major drawdown potential (see Drawdown).

Because this is not simple nor easy, in the podcast series I interview the people scaling up the this sector by asking the question: how can we put money to work in the regenerative agriculture and food sector? Plus I wrote a number of articles via Medium.

Other ways to support this mission:
- Share the podcasts/Patreon with your friends
- Give a 5-star rating (if you podcast app allows it), that is the best way other listeners can find the podcast, this only takes 5sec.

Thank you
Koen

P.S.2 I might have sponsors in the future supporting specific series, but I see the need for a separate income stream to keep me independent.

Some reviews:

“Monthly I eagerly look forward to the interviews from the podcast Investing in Regenerative Agriculture. Koen van Seijen seeks to find out what moves the pilgrims along this revolution with their trials and the elations that they encounter. Soil is EVERYTHING! and I have learned from the people in the movement, through Koen, that it takes patient capital, that nature is always in movement, and that it isn’t easy to make the changes back to smart conservation of the Soil. I also appreciate it that Koen has such a broad approach—-from tree planting to soil to farmers, etc”

“Investing In Regenerative Agriculture” has become an indispensable source for keeping up with the "who’s who" and the "what’s what” in the rapidly growing area of regenerative enterprise rooted in ecosystem health.

Fernando Russo, Impact Investor, Meraki Impact
For me the podcast is the most relevant source of filed knowledge I have today coming from experts who are putting sustainable agriculture into practice. I specially enjoy to hear interviews with farmers. It helps me to get out of my usual investor bubble.

Koen is doing a stellar job of bringing together into a single repository international knowledge, insights and best practices around regenerative farming. This is a great service to this emerging yet critically important movement.
