Milestone Goals
Greeting Cards: Spread the Love
$350 per month
My goal is to create art, turn it into greeting cards and then mail cards out to people. In world where a majority of mail is bills and junk I believe nothing beats getting a greeting card with a nice message. Its nice to know someone went out of their way to mail you a funny, beautiful, awesome and or sweet message. Its a piece of art I want to share. Inside the card will be a smaller card with a stamped envelope so that the person can spread the love to someone they know. In the future I would like to include a sticker. I want to spread some happiness; I’ve done it on a small scale within my town and people love it!
I will plan to create and produce a card to send out each month. Sometimes it might be more than one card!
I am a small town artist, I print my cards at my small town/locally owned print-shop. I sell the excess cards at my parent’s small town gift store.
This amount is for helping buy more art supplies, print and mailing.

Hi from the North woods! I’m Markie of ReMarkieable, I love creating greeting cards. I’m not talking about those scrap book deals- I create original art that I turn into cards.

At the age of 13, I created my first card. It was a get well card to my Great Aunt, who was in the hospital. Days later she passed away. I think that is a big part to my passion; she meant a lot to me.
Though some people think cards are stupid or simply buy them just because they feel obligated I do not feel the same. To me, it is a way to express feelings. It’s a visual way to say, “Hey, I care and I feel like this card expresses my thoughts.”
Whether it be celebrating a milestone or letting someone know you’re thinking of them, cards are a great way to convey those emotions in a physical form that the person can hold onto.

I’ve drawn ever since I could hold onto a pencil. When I draw my greeting card designs, I like to think of someone and let them be my inspiration. The design has to mean something special. I do draw a variety of things in different styles. I love making comics and am working on an educational history book not to mention grungy band art.

I work full time as a graphic designer at my local print-shop. On my lunch and after work I go to my family’s gift store and work. I’ve lived most of my life in that store. It taught me the importance of community, customer service, work ethics and going the extra mile. I love helping with community events and volunteering my graphic design skills. Though I work constantly, I struggle to pay my bills. I’m hoping through this site I can continue to create and mail greeting cards.
I’m not in it to make money (though I do sell some cards at my parent’s gift store), I just like doing something special.

With your support I can spread some love. I have bipolar and a dissociative disorder so I know the depression feeling all to well. I know the feeling of loneliness. I hope to create a positive impact and let people know that someone does care because I do.

I love my kitty...

Though I strive to be independent and pay for my own stuff, I need help on this. I can’t do it alone. I’m on my knees begging for you to find it in your heart and join me. I am so grateful for any financial help and any kind words of encouragement. Thank you and I hope you have safe travels and wonderful adventures!
If you’re ever in Ashland, Wisconsin, you should stop in the New England Store (518 Main Street West)- you might just catch me there!
