Hello!  If you're here, you probably already know me, but if not, welcome!  My name is Katherine "Lashe" Neslund and I am a *clears throat and takes a deep breath* Production/Stage Manager, Lighting Designer, Burlesque Performer/Producer, Teacher, Costumer, Actor, Model, Geek, and Benevolent Dictator.  The last one is really more of a life goal, but dress for the job you want, am I right?
General goals include creating super awesome art with super awesome people and spreading a message of acceptance for all through that art.  I swear I'm not a hippy, but my grandmother was super into animal conservation and recycling and was an avid supporter of my being involved in the arts since I was a kid...she sent me to clown and mime school one summer for gods' sake.  However, creating all this super awesome art costs money and though I am making the tens and tens of dollars as a professional stage manager and lighting designer, I would love to be able to create more art and worry less about bills...that's where you guys come in.
Art costs money.  It's a very simple statement, but it's the reason this site even exists.  As a producer I try to hire a lot of diverse and talented people however, I am often not paid in that role because there just isn't enough money to go around and I want everyone to be paid!  It would be amazing to get enough monthly donations that I no longer have to include myself in the payroll for those shows so all of that money can go to the performers and tech crew that I hire.  Honestly, $200 a month would mean I could do that as it would help cover all of the hours I put into casting, hiring the crew, organize the line-up, do marketing, create the show playlists, etc... I also usually stage manage and run the door for the shows I produce to help keep costs down.
When I am not running the shows I do try to work on other projects.  My brain is very full of ideas that I want to share with you all.  Some of them are additional shows I would like to produce, some are new burlesque acts I would like to perform for you, and some are costume prototypes that I would like to be able to make a reality.  (Did I mention I also really like going to cons and doing cosplay?)  Some of these ideas also involve me needing to hire people to help write scripted burlesque shows, scripted horror-themed shows, and commissioning the building of weird props and other things that are in my head, but beyond my skills.  Money from this can help with that too so I'm not struggling to choose between making art and making rent on slow months.  (Theatre is seasonal, as is the pay)
I've been working in theatre in one capacity or another since I was 5.  I have degrees in this because it is all I have wanted in life since I was a little kid.  I have been professionally stage managing for *cough*fifteen*cough* years and I have been producing shows for twelve.  I got the knowledge, I've got the skills, I've had and been a part of some super successful shows, all I'm missing is a little help.  Thank you even if you just made it to the bottom of all of this.  Also, thank you to anyone that has ever come to one of my shows be it won that I produced or worked on.  Thank you to everyone that goes and supports live entertainment in all of its forms.

Packages will be sent the 1st week of the month following receipt of the pledge.
