Look here for my reports about the technical and creative challenges I face in the making of my stereoscopic art (and the solutions that I discover).   I'll announce exhibitions of my work, answer your questions from the technical to the philosophical, and show you my unique 3d imagery long before it gets published anywhere else.

Since about 1997 I have been making fine art stereoscopic images.  First using just computer (CGI) tools, then film and digital cameras.  I still shoot medium format slide film, though some of my projects cannot be done without digital cameras.  I finish my images into vintage format stereoviews (stereo cards), large format anaglyph prints, and medium format stereoscopic slides (i.e. 6x6cm 3d slide film images), for collectors and for gallery exhibition.  I am looking forward to publishing a (vintage format) Viewmaster reel sometime, and I'm working on a book.

In the tens I've also begun to make the occasional stereoscopic video. These can hardly be sold, but they can certainly be shown. They look awesome on a 3d TV! I have been showing these at meetings or conventions and also via YouTube, which has a pretty good stereoscopic player (though lately there has been complexity there). I will continue to make the 3d videos, even though there is no "market" for them, really - I just love the work and the creative potential seems to be limitless.

I feel passionately about making fine art stereoscopic images and video.  Please join me in working to advance the state of the art in this genre.  Your support will help keep me focussed, maintain momentum, stay positive, and that will help me to become more productive!

Thank you very much.

$7 or more per month 1 patron
You'll receive a Bill Hibbert stereo lorgnette, which is a nicer lorgnette for viewing stereo cards.  Plus, I will send you a museum quality, hand-made fine art stereoview (including Not Safe For Work if you prefer).
Clear Builder
$12 or more per month 0 patrons
Clear Builders support my work with Clear Buildings that I've been doing since 2007.  Particularly challenging but also rewarding, this work is truly historic and unique - no other stereoscopic artist has done or is doing anything like it.  Clear Builders receive a Clear Buildings stereoview and a Bill Hibbert lorgnette.
Visionary
$24 or more per month 2 patrons
Visionaries receive my RETROFORMAT CD-ROM, which contains over 800 scans of my stereoviews, both the nudes and creative/other, in various formats: stereo pair, anaglyph.  Coolest of all, you get access to my live stream events - like a studio session with a model, or a demonstration of some 3d technique.
Goals
$69 of $240 per month
I am currently working on my first Viewmaster reel to be published through Image3D.  The imagery will be drawn from some of my earliest stereoscopic imagery, created in the late 1990s - TECHNOBOT.  Reaching this funding goal will help me to print my first Reels.

There are two options for VM reel production: digital film recording at Image3D, or an optical process (i.e. shooting film dupes to go into the reels).  Sadly, professional optical manufacture of VM reels no longer appears available to the public.  New VM reels are still being made en masse by Disney etc., but (true / starving) artists do not appear to have an optical production option (which is cheaper in large quantities).  Nevertheless, I'm still researching such an option, including the possibility of making my own reels by hand using a VM camera and VM film cutter and a supply of personal reels.  Either way, the project will be costly.
