The Two Pies
OK, OK, that's actually way more than two pies but it's pretty much ensuring that I can cover my hosting costs and eat pie for a bit amongst other things. It's the "I don't have to worry *that* much but still have to worry a bit" goal, really.
The Full Pie
I could buy pretty much the biggest pie in the world with this. And more importantly, that's hosting, time to sit down and write without too much stress and all that jazz. Anything over this and I can dedicate much more time to writing than I already do.
The Dinosaur
I'll buy a dinosaur statue and put it in my garden and the cats can ride on its back and pretend to be dinosaur cat warriors, hunting birds with sticks. Seriously, this isn't a joke tier. I really want a dinosaur.

Hi there.
My name's Rob and for over ten years now I've been writing and writing about videogames for humans and I'm asking for your help to be able to dedicate more time to doing just that.
What this campaign will support.
It'll fund writing about videogames on Take This Machine, basically the more support I get through Patreon, the more posts about videogames I can afford to take the time out to make. I'll root out stuff from magazines that's cool, I'll talk about odd things, old things, new things. All the things I like in videogames and stuff surrounding videogames.
It'll fund writing about being in videogames on We Make The Cops Look Dumb, where I've been posting about things like that for ten years now. The posts on WMTCLD (and I promise I'll never abbreviate it like that again) are mainly concerned with being in and around videogames, what's happening and all that stuff.
All my writing will, obviously, be placed out onto the wider internet for free.
Rob Who?
Before people kinda gave them up and started making their own things because they could make their own things, I ran a site dedicated to remakes. During my time there, we held competitions that saw hundreds of games made, bolstered a library of accessible games, shouted loudly about accessible games and tried to lift people up along the way. We didn't always succeed, we made some missteps, got some things wrong but it was fun trying. These days, the place is kinda mothballed outside the forum so I do most of my writing over on my personal blog, We Make The Cops Look Dumb. I also once ran an XBLIG site but we lost that somewhere. It was great whilst it lasted, mind.
I've been called "The Godzilla of grumbling" by Develop, "defiantly indie" by Edge Magazine, "an effusive individual" by The Guardian and " a massive jerk" by Eurogamer. I'm likely all these things but also, I hope, sort of OK really.
OK, so how does this all work then?
Because sometimes I write one article, sometimes I write lots of articles (depends on what's happening in games at the time), I've set Patreon to take monthly donations so I don't end up accidentally costing people a whole lot of money for the stuff I do (you can set a maximum in Patreon but I'm aware of how quickly these things can add up).
At the end of each month, I'll put up a post for Patreon contributors detailing all the stuff I've done words about and with some wordy stuff as well as to thank you for your continued support.
So yeah.
Hi. My name's Rob and if you like the words I write, like the things I do, I'd be grateful for you supporting my Patreon so I can do that a whole lot more.
Every dollar pledged makes this writing words thing a whole lot easier and less stressful and I'd be thankful for your support as would my four cats. It always comes back to cats.
