A San Diego sports writer decided to change his tone for an article back in April, 2014. Kevin Acee spoke about the impact Ronald McDonald House of San Diego can have for parents and families in need while their child is in the hospital. The piece is centered around a boy named Steven Russell who has had heart complications his entire life and is nearing his third surgery before his fifth birthday. This is not only hard on little Steven but his parents Joe and Kim did not know where to turn. "It was a horrible time made a heck of a lot better because their other three kids could visit, and the family could eat together and actually have fun outside of the hospital" Acee states why Ronald McDonald House was such a huge help to their lives. San Diego's Ronald McDonald House is here for every family that needs it in this manner through the hardest times.

Acee decided he needed to help and he plans to donate $1 for every passing yard Philip Rivers throws this season. Rivers agreed to match these donations. This is San Diego's chance to help out as well. Anyone can donate anywhere from 10 Cents to $1 for every yard Rivers throws in the 2014 Chargers Season.
