Hi there, I'm Robbie.

You probably know me best as the author of Home Assistant for iOS, the best way to integrate iOS into your Home Assistant. I'm also the original developer of integrations such as HTML5 Push NotificationsGTFSUberFitbitZeroconf and the fan component just to name a few, in addition to helping maintain and improve many other integrations such as the MQTT light platform.

I'm obsessed with Home Automation as a industry, and most specifically Home Assistant. I started building the iOS app because I was annoyed at the time with how sparse the integration options were for doing things like sending location updates to Home Assistant from iOS. Since then, I've turned it into what I like to think is one of the most powerful apps in the App Store, bar none, and I think the consistent global 4.9 or better star review proves this.

I'm launching a Patreon to allow me to continue working at least part time and eventually full time on Home Assistant Companion for iOS and Android as well as Home Assistant itself. The primary reason for delays in development of the iOS app over the last 3 years has been due to juggling working on the app and working a day job, usually as one of the first few employees or a cofounder of a startup, which obviously limits my available time for Home Assistant.

With this Patreon, I hope to be able to get enough support to set aside a solid chunk of hours, eventually about 40 per month, to entirely dedicate to Home Assistant Companion for iOS and Android as well as Home Assistant itself, doing things such as helping out with pull request reviews, responding to people needing general help on the forums and ensuring that Home Assistant and Home Assistant Companion for iOS and Android are always the best they can possibly be.

Supporting me on Patreon means you can help shape future versions of the iOS app as well as early access to future integrations that I develop.
