Who Am I?
Hey folks! I'm Rob Caporetto - by day I'm a freelance programmer, working on a variety of projects such as indie games, mobile projects and other applications/utility programs.

By night, I run a channel in which I produce a show titled Rob Plays, which as the title says is a series where I do "Let's Play" style videos of old retro games (focused on the Commodore 64, though I have done the occasional video other machines), captured from the real hardware, which ensures you see them just as you would on a real TV.

These videos range from simple one-off gameplays (with unscripted commentary), typically about older titles (with the occasional newer one thrown into the mix), as well as more scripted reviews, either on their own or as part of a series on a compilation or competition. Why Patreon?
For those who aren't familiar with it, Patreon's a service which allows you to support the creators of various things you enjoy in a more direct way. Working as a freelance programmer means that there's times when my time, or my income is somewhat unstable - meaning I may have additional time to work on a larger video, or that I may have less time in order to catch up on a project. So by choosing to pledge, it helps me block out time to work on these videos, as well as plan for some of the other ideas I have in my head.

I must stress that my videos will always be free to watch, regardless of whether or not anyone supports me here. I'm primarily setting this up as a tip jar, for those who do appreciate the work I'm doing, and are in the position where they can spare a few dollars each month.

What are my Plans?
In the short term, I plan to use any pledged money to help cover my various living & tech expenses.

Over time, if the channel grows in support, I'd like to be able to put some of the money towards improving my videos - from getting better capture hardware, to training & materals for the packages I use (Final Cut Pro & Motion), as well as other supporting pieces for when I do live action framing parts.

What do you get for supporting me?
To start with, I'm offering early access to videos as I upload them - when working on them, I try to get a few done at a time, so as they go up, they'll be ready for Patrons to view ahead of their public release.

Along with that, I'll also include some behind the scenes action - talking about some of the games I've been playing for coverage, along with some other little surprises along the way.

Again, this is something which I'll expand over time (as things grow) - but when it does, I'll be sure to let all my patrons know.
