About Rock the Audition Coalition

The Rock The Audition Coalition is dedicated to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all theatre artists to explore their artistry, hone their craft and connect and collaborate with Theatre Industry Leaders.

Lead by typically marginalized people, our mission is to shape and develop the Industry to reflect and facilitate diversity on both sides of the table.

Mobilizing the Industry

The RTA Coalition aims to mobilize Broadway & Regional Theatres (Onstage and Off, from both sides of the table), College and University Training Programs, Summer Theatre Programs, Teen Programs, Teacher Trainings, and the world of Private Voice and Acting Teachers.

Rather than prescribing change onto an ever-evolving industry, we want to shift the industry with the people who are shaping it. We intend to continue to evolve together to best serve the entire theatrical community, always keeping everyone engaged in the latest changes.

Our Offer

We offer anyone who chooses to be an advocate for any marginalized community in our Coalition free or discounted classes from the diverse group of teachers who will be in our family, simply for offering allyship.
We are working towards building community confidence around the following topics:
  • How to advocate for yourself
  • How to create an inclusive audition and rehearsal space
  • How universities can be more inclusive
  • Ways to partner with local organizations to increase inclusion efforts
  • And many more!
Through classes, coaching, and workshops, members of the Coalition will be equipped with the skills to mobilize and make positive change in their communities.
