Almost 4 out of 5 mobile users use a browser that is able to display webp images [1]. Yet, on most websites, they are served jpeg images, which are typically double the size of webp images for a given quality. What a waste of bandwidth!

To help remedy that situation, I have created a general PHP library for serving autogenerated webp images to browsers that supports it. And, in order to reach out to as many as possible, I have also created a Wordpress plugin, which utilizes the library, making it easy peasy for Wordpress webmasters to deliver webp images.

As the library and the Wordpress plugin are gaining attention, I find myself spending most of my working hours on these projects, even though this does not generate bread on the table. As most people, I need bread, and perhaps a banana too - for the children. Please help me being able to continue working hard on these projects and have bananas too.

It is becoming increasingly hard to find good Wordpress plugins, which comes for free (much of the good stuff are only available in PRO versions). You can fight back this tendency by supporting open source projects - like this one :)

Backer
$5 or more per month
Being a backer, you will help providing the very important bread and butter on the table. In return, as a small gesture of gratitude, you will be credited in both repositories, and you also get to write a little message there (in BACKERS.md)
Generous backer
$25 or more per month
25 bananas a month - one for each day, except sunday. You shall be credited for this too (in the "Generous backers" section in BACKERS.md)
Sponsor
$100 or more per month
A sponsorship will have a real impact on how much time I can afford to put into these projects, and ultimately their destiny. In return, I will place your logo on the projects frontpages (README.md)
