About Rose "Comics" Turner
Hey, my name is Rose. A lot of people also call me Comics. Technically, I'm a professional pedestrian / artist adventurer. With the support of patrons, I recently had the honor of hiking the entire 2,190.9 mile Appalachian Trail. I made comics along the way (in fact, the comics are still coming out) and I'll be gathering all of those into a book to share very soon.
This is what I am made for: moving and making art; connecting with nature, myself, and others; breathing deeply and challenging myself; and finding/building bridges along the way.
There are many more trails out there that are calling my name, and I intend to hike them all. I aim to make extensive art along the way to share my experiences with you and share the beauty of these people and places around the world. I aim to find sustainable ways of hiking that are eco-friendly (part of why I try to go the opposite direction of the crowd usually, so that it is less impactful on the trail.) I am my best self when I am hiking and making art and connecting with the golden people of the trail community. I want to share that with you through my art.
It would mean the world to me if you could contribute to my journey. It would help cover:
-occasional airfare/other transportation to get to trail heads
-food along the way
-occasional night in a real bed
-occasional gear replacement (primarily shoes, as they wear out after 500 miles or so)
You can subscribe here on Patreon and receive various tokens of my gratitude, or if you would just like to make a one-time contribution, that is more than welcome as well! Simply PayPal me at [email protected]
If you're able to help at all financially, I would be super grateful, but even if you can't, please feel free to follow the journey on my instagram! Happy trails, friends!
This covers my phone bill, most art supplies, and most groceries when I'm off trail.
