I've spent the better part of eight years writing a book. With "a little help from my friends" I'll get it out this year. It started as a memoir, but it evolved into a hometown parade of what makes us human—intertwined with a fly-by of how we got where we are—and a field guide to which ways up from here. Today I'll upload an illustrated "Preview" of the first three of twelve chapters.
Given our immediate need—I've also compressed almost 600 pages into a four-page commentary I call "A Real American Spring." In it I lay out the fundamental conflicts bogging us down—and which paths actually look like they lead up. I'm putting it out—for free—any and every way I can.
Long story short, beyond that urgent task, I'm an artist, a poet, a musician, a gardener, and a cook—and I aim to leave the world a better place than I found it. Thanks for tuning in!
Tiers
"A Real American Spring"
$1 or more per month

Access "A Real American Spring"—an illustrated 2,500 word look at the fundamental issues driving our present situation and where we need to go from here.

Plus bi-monthly updates on progress on related projects—and a variety of pleasant surprises.

An Artist's Journey of Discovery
$10 or more per month
Last August, for my 73rd B-day, my wife and I met Edouard Manet and Victorine Meurent for lunch across the River of Time—at the Grounds for Sculpture. It was such a pleasant experience, I decided to model this tier after it: so stroll around a blend of nature's beauty, have unexpected encounters with art, consider ideas writ in stone, and enjoy refreshments that don't require equipment you can't afford or ingredients you've never heard of.
A Veritable Fountain of Delights
$20 or more per month
For this tier, I've got all the spigots turned on: art, writing, music, food, and gardening, including exclusive shows and signed/prints—and an advance look at the book as it takes shape.
