Hi, my name is Ryan and I'm an engineer / photographer / visual-artist mix documenting science, space and rocketry with dynamic visual imagery and a personal behind-the-scenes view. Humbled that you're here and thank you for your support and encouragement!

Why Patreon
:
I'm currently a volunteer photographer/filmmaker traveling full-time to explore space and science in our culture. Altered perception is in my heart, both technically through photo/video/highspeed/timelapse and through storytelling. There's a deeper cosmic perspective to be shared and it doesn't quite fit inside traditional news gathering realms. Join in the discussion and let's discover new ways to share our love for space and science.

What I'm creating: From unique and personal behind-the-scenes stories that aim to convey the excitement and emotion of a launch, stunning visuals that document a place (like SETI Allen Telescope Array), to very practical and dynamic print/collectibles that commemorate our grand adventure into the cosmos, I'm pushing my edge to blend art and science, share and teach along the way. I'm also on a mission to connect and lift other artists, communicators and creatives in this community. So these creators may continue to do what they do best.

Current Projects:
1. High-speed dynamic liftoff videos at 1,000 and 1,500fps+ (improving upon Vid1, Vid2, Latest Vid3)
2. Multi-camera synched high dynamic range high-resolution images
3. 180 degrees 3D VR launch video and imagery (initial rig testing)
4. Long duration exposure ramped rocket pad timelapses
5. Altered perception through photography guidebook
5. Commemorative physical products

Check out the rewards and my story below, if it resonates join in and let's see things in a whole new light.

Examples:
Main behind-the-scenes features: SpaceX Bangabandu Sat-1 behind-the-scenesSpaceX TESS behind-the-scenes
Fielding new capture Tech: Custom creation of RSR (Rocket Slomo Rig) Currently in version 2.0
Dynamic rocket flame imagery [  SpaceX Block 5 Falcon Heavy Falcon 9ULA Atlas V Orbital ATK Antares, lots more]
Video and Timelapse mini-features:  Atlas Launchpad Launchpad timelapse Photographers in action
Live Wallpapers:  Atlas V

...Why I believe art and strong science communication can stitch together that which divides: I'm deeply deeply in love with our culture and am fascinated by why it is we believe what we do each and every day. Facts appeal to our rational brain, but our beliefs are largely influenced by emotion, by what feels true... that's why art and strong communication is so important. An emotional connection is a powerful tool for truth and one that breaks us free of biases that can bind and blind us. This is still uncharted territory for me... something I've been studying for a while and is a large part of the meaning that drives the day-to-day. There's a lot of work to be done, great people in this field and I'm beyond grateful for your support and encouragement to keep exploring it.

About me: Four years ago I saw my first rocket launch and was deeply and significantly moved, I couldn't stop thinking about our grand adventure into space and the meaning it provides. Since then I've redesigned my life to creatively document spaceflight and explore science communication full-time. Selling all my stuff I hit the road. It's been 12 months traveling in Voyager 3. We're (my pup and me) on an adventure to fuse art and the unseen with emotion and strong science communication. It's compelling visually but it's also a behind-the-scenes story of space and science now, in this time with a bridge to history and what makes our culture great.
