About Sahara Jane
I am a Canadian songwriter, musician and video maker. Over the past decade or so, my musical life has taken me often to Asia, to Europe and across Canada, and this year I'm based in Nova Scotia, writing songs, making beats and recording a new album.
The upcoming album is will be called Worlds Apart, and this new collection of songs are written around ideas of separation and unity. For me this album and the process of writing and recording it is so important to me because it feels like it brings together the conflicted parts of myself and my cultures. It has been quite a process.
Thank you so much for visiting my Patreon page. If you would like to be part of my process and to hear new songs and works in progress, please consider becoming my patron. I will be posting videos of new songs regularly as well as chord charts, festival and performance experiences and all of our music videos will be shown here first!
Patreon feels to me like the best place for musicians and music lovers on the internet right now. Changes in technology mean that most people don’t buy CDs or pay for music downloads anymore. Everyone seems to be using online streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. But streaming doesn’t really pay anything to the creators, so it’s become more and more confusing trying to figure out how to make a living while still making music.
Many listeners want a more real connection to the musicians who inspire them, and Patreon offers that, as well as a direct way to support your favorite artists through a monthly subscription. The best part is that it allows us to connect without advertisements or corporate interests but it still doesn't have to be expensive. You can pay any amount from $1 per month, and every pledge helps me to make better and higher quality works, and provides me with the motivation that comes from being supported by my listeners to make music.
I am honoured that you are here and have taken the time to read this. Thank you for your interest and support. I’ll be posting here regularly, and I hope to hear from you too!
