I was fortune enough to have been born in an exceedingly beautiful place, and for as long as I can remember I have always been exploring the country's highways, byways and coastal paths. My parents, although hardworking and down to earth, encouraged my curiosity for the natural world. Over the years my wanderings have given me the opportunity to see a vast array of extraordinarily beautiful things but it wasn't until I started working with community interest groups that I began to appreciate how lucky I have been over such a short lifetime. People with chronic pain and disabilities, from disadvantaged neighbourhoods, or with just busy lives started telling me that they look forward to seeing my landscape and wildlife photography posts.

We are seeing research now that access to nature, and even viewing images of nature can be beneficial to our health and wellbeing, even potentially improving memory!

It fills me with immense joy knowing that my photography has this positive impact on people, and if even 1 person's mood is lifted as a result of viewing my photos it makes all the hardwork worthwhile.

The main reason why I have created this patreon is to:

+ Formulate a sustainable 'business model' where I can continue to offer my photographs as a supplement to ecotherapy and to help remedy alienation from nature via experience.

+ Expand my audience to reach more individuals who could benefit from my photography

+ Engage with the wider community to establish criteria for the most effect images and delivery methods - Essentially gauge likes and dislikes, I want to know what is working and what isn't helpful.

Disclaimer:

My experiences have lead me to believe that protecting the natural world is of the upmost importance, both for its own sake and ultimately for the future of humanity. I studied landscape and climate evolution at university, and as such I understand that drastic action needs to be taken. I believe this needs to be done with the backing of everybody: local and indigenous communities, farming and fishing unions, working class parents and stakeholders. I am a member of an ethnic minority group and believe in inclusive access. I want everyone to be able to experience the natural world: 'no one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced" - Sir David Attenborough. My agenda is to help people care whilst making them smile.
