Hi Patrons and potential Patrons!
My name is Samar Hejazi. I'm a conceptual artist based out of Toronto, Canada. As a trilingual woman of Palestinian descent, born in the U.S. and raised in diverse communities in the Middle East and Canada, I use my art to question ideas surrounding identity.
I'm not going to bore you with a typical artist statement and bio because you can just go to my website for that www.samarhejazi.com
Basically Patrons, I need your help to keep making high quality artwork that will inspire, empower, and engage others. My goal is to create larger more impactful and immersive art installations that involve the collaboration of many makers from all walks of life. My aim is to highlight women, culture, craft and the power of creating.
I am open to sharing everything I know from skills to concept development to stories with everyone/anyone who is interested so please, do not hesitate to let me know what you want to see more of on this site!
The funds from my patrons will help support:
  • My studio space
  • My materials
  • Fair pay to my art assistants
  • Time to keep making
  • Time to find new ways to teach, inspire and empower others
  • My ongoing happiness
In my posts I will talk about:
  • Palestinian culture
  • Canadian culture
  • Diaspora culture
  • Culture in general!
  • The creative process
  • Skills, techniques and materials
  • My inspirations (other artists and more)
  • Being a woman
  • And the usual everyday frustrations
Oh and thought I should mention - 10% of the profits from my sales are donated to various organizations that aid in refugee relief. These will be listed month to month to show you where your money goes.
So helping me helps others too!

Peace and Love (insert peace sign emoji here)
xo,
Samar
