My name is Sam Neukirch. I'm an artist & illustrator who likes geeky stuff, feminism, cartoons, games, comics, chickens, sci-fi space adventures and deep sea creatures.

I've been dealing with a chronic injury to my drawing arm since 2015, so I have to be careful with the work that I am doing. With support from you here on Patreon, I can focus on doing the work I want to do, doing higher quality work, and continuing to grow as an artist.

After being forced to quit school in 2014, being a sign artist for 2 years, and then going back to school briefly, I've decided school isn't the right thing for me. I'm going full in on self-study and making work for myself, in addition to pushing freelance work and selling at conventions.

I carry a sketchbook with me everywhere and love to draw from life - and I'd love to do more to share with you!

I studied figure drawing with my late mentor for 6 years. Figure drawing is incredibly important to me and is definitely how I've learned and grown the most. I want to keep studying and will use Patreon funds to get myself to class again.

Like a lot of artists out there, I started by drawing fan art as a kid. I'd like to do more of it, like I used to! It's good practice and fun haha. (I know some of you have found your way to me through fan art, but I hope you'll join me on my general artistic journey as well.)

I AM CURRENTLY ON HIATUS:
As of April 2016, I am taking a break on here to help my arm recover and I am working on a backlog of future rewards.
If you wish to support me, go ahead - I will not be doing any paid posts and I will let my patrons know ahead of time when I return to my monthly campaign. I currently estimate that to be early 2017.
