KANSHA
$1 or more per month 0 patrons
Kansha means "Thanks" or "Gratitude" in Japanese :-)

  • You will receive my everlasting love and appreciation because every bit helps in enabling me to work on my books and run my blog (and keep it ad-free).
  • I will deliver blog posts via Patreon. While I work on my books, I plan on updating the blog once or twice a month.
  • You might also get the occasional photo of my very cute cat.
  • There's also a decent chance that you'll get bloopers and outtakes from blog posts.

FUROKU
$7 or more per month 7 patrons
Furoku means "Bonus Gift" in Japanese :-)

A monthly newsletter type of thing in which I:

  • Regale you with entertaining or informative essays (I hope) about my many, many failures and lessons learned. I've sussed out that next to learning from my own foibles, I glean the most from reading about other people's errors, and for stories about endless mistakes, I'm your gal.
  • Update you with the nitty gritty, behind the scenes info about my various projects including book publishing and proposal development. My six book deals (2 just freshly acquired as of 2018!) may not give me quite the clout that this man has, who cited the survey that revealed 81% of Americans want to write a book. Still, I have a unique perspective and it will be in real-time. Note: the NY Times article linked above is rather negative, and I hold the firm belief that if you feel like you have a book in you, by all means, you are meant to write it.
  • Possibly include a digital download of some sort, usually an illustration or a sewing pattern PDF by me.
  • Provide business and financial information. That sounds way more official than it is. Trust me, I'm flying by the seat of my pants here. I've been lucky enough to develop multiple income streams and am VERY open and upfront about how much I earn through this whole creative business venture I've thrust myself into, and folks seem intrigued to read about the royalty statements and inner workings of the publishing/crafting world.

+ all of the above.

WABI-SABI
$15 or more per month 8 patrons
Wabi-sabi means finding the beauty in imperfections and appreciating the transience of life in Japanese :-)

  • An experimental monthly video or live chat. Lots of behind-the-scenes, trying new things, taking risks, reviewing stuff I have (and I have lots of stuff including art supplies, sewing patterns/fabrics, books, skincare -- the possibilities are endless, really). The quality will be VERY wabi-sabi aka imperfect.
  • Members of 6 months or more will receive a signed copy of any one of my books and a surprise bag o' goodness. International shipping is totally okay.
