About San Antonio Review

Launched in 2017, the San Antonio Review publishes poetry, fiction, art, essays and more twice a week online at Two print issues were released at the end of 2017 and 2019. In 2020, we would like to begin publishing at least biannually, though we'd prefer quarterly.

Since its launch, SAR has been funded mainly out of its publisher's income from his day job and his family's limited (and dwindling) savings account, alongside small, irregular donations from friends, family and readers.

To be able to afford more frequent print issues, we ask for your contribution. Our initial goal is $1,000 to cover the cost of the next issue's printing and distribution to contributing authors. Stretch goals will include more frequent print editions.

Printing Costs

We publish our print issues using IngramSpark, giving us worldwide distribution in bookstores and availability to libraries. We also issue electronic versions on Amazon.
According to IngramSpark's Book Calculator, 100 copies of our next issue works out to $918.33 at our publisher's door.

Rounding up to $1,000 will provide us extra funds to ship free copies to the authors who are published in each issue.

Risks & Challenges

While there are always risks and challenges associated with such projects, the fact that we have two previous issues on shelves should demonstrate our sincerity. Whether or not this campaign succeeds, there will (unless our publisher is robbed, killed or otherwise incapacitated) be a third print issue of San Antonio Review.
