Sarah and the Strange is creating Stories
I'm Sarah and the Strange and I tell stories. Sometimes short sometimes long, sometimes silly and sometimes serious. Sometimes all of those things at once.

Milestone Goals
See an animation I voice acted in when I was 15
When I was 15 I took part in a really fun project with a local arts group and we created a short animation. I voice acted the main character. If we get to this amount, I'll share it with everyone so you can all have a good giggle at me :)
Paperback copy of Love Letters to No One in Particular
If I reach this goal I'll be able to publish my eBook of poetry, "Love Letters to No One in Particular" in paperback.
Physical copies of all future books
With this goal I will be able to create a paperback or hardback copy of each book that I create.
Hiccup Vs gets put into a book
I'll get all of my little mini comics called Hiccup Vs and put them into a physical thing. The comics will get redrawn, the full colour treatment and shininess.
Writing becomes my part time job
With this amount it means I can focus on doing my work much more full time. I can focus on the art and do less of the "I need to pay the bills" job. This is obviously a huge deal - it means more work being published, better quality, better everything. Because this goal is a long way off, I'm going to have a think about how we can celebrate this goal and come back.

Welcome to my Patreon
Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm a bit strange. I write, I draw, I sing, I play instruments, I do a whole bunch of creative-y stuff, mostly to do with stories. I want to make things that make people feel. I read a book when I was a kid that made me feel an enormous sense of wonder, awe, amazement and made me appreciate the beauty of the world. I want to create things that give people that same emotion. Things that make people happy and sad and moved and excited. And I want to give that stuff away for free.I don't make art to make money, I make art to express myself, to connect with people, to share my experiences, to process my thoughts. But I'd also like to be able to do this full time, and make things that I'm really proud of, and do the things I've always imagined myself being able to do. So, I'm turning to Patreon, because I want to be able to give this stuff away for free, but also be able to support myself.
When you sign up as a Patreon, you automatically get all my future work sent to you whenever it's created, so you don't need to download anything separately. At larger pledge amounts, you get behind the scenes images, like sketches of illustrations I'm working on for books and drafts of things semi-finished, or links to view the finished whatever-it-is before anyone else.
My favourite pledge of all time here is the $5 pledge. I will send you handwritten letters and postcards every time I create something, little doodles about the Thing, little trinkets of things I've found out and about, things like cards or cute figures or pretty things, or cheap books that remind me of you all. Anyone who signs up to this and larger pledges gets this reward, and I feel like this is the best way that you can get to know me, keep in touch and stuff. Connection, yo!
Previous Work

My first Patreon-supported campaign, Love You Lots Like Jelly Tots! It's a children's book about all the different ways you can love someone. You will be quoting this to each other long after you've read it (Confirmed by a 3 & 1/2 year old :)

My first self published book came out earlier this year through a Pay What You Want method of payment. It's a ebook of poems about love, relationships and friendships, all based on true experiences. You can view it here.
You can also find a lot of examples of my writing, as well as keeping on track of all my projects on my blog! sarahandthestrange.wordpress.com
