Hi! I'm Sara and I'm an author.
I love writing stories about women who don't live the expected life. Women who put their dreams and desires first. Their romantic partners need to treat them as equals and know my heroine will push back for what she wants. They might not get married, have babies, or stay in a relationship forever, but in the story, they will have a "Happily For Now" ending because they know happiness doesn't just last forever.

Write Soon
I have a paper obsession: journals, scrapbooks, stationery, and more. I love to collect it, but more importantly, I love to use it. Three years ago I found out about two letter-writing events:   International Correspondence Writing Month (InCoWriMo) every February and  National Letter Writing Month (#Write_On) every April. Each challenge focuses on sending a letter every day in the respective month. I loved the idea of using my stationary and sending letters. I've met some amazing people and found some pen pals who I've been writing too for years. This year, as I wrote my letters, I started thinking about Amber and Kyle, two people who fall in love through letters.
I've been inspired by some amazing epistolary novels. Mainly, the Griffin and Sabine saga, which included some amazing artwork; Dear Mr. Henshaw, which I think most Americans read as kids; and my friend Jen Petro-Roy's middle-grade novel P.S. I Miss You
Patreon supporters will be reading the letters between Amber and Kyle as I write them, over the course of about a year (maybe longer).

Why Am I On Patreon?
When I started writing in 2004, I never thought about sharing with people. When I finally got the courage to submit my first book to publishers in 2015, I was thrilled to find someone who liked the book enough to publish it. When they closed a year later, I took on self-publishing without worrying about the readers. I had too many tasks to do. Once the book was published and I was connecting with readers, I started sharing content freely hoping to build a group of readers who loved my stories as much as I did. Its been about two years since I published Modern Persuasion and in that time I've met some amazing and supportive readers.
There is a moment when a self-published author has to think about paying the bills. Being on Patreon allows me to share content with my readers and cover some of the expenses associated with publishing a book. My hope, by using Patreon, is that I can balance the cost and my time better. I would love to someday work on my writing part-time, but to start, I just want to cover my monthly expenses and publishing Write Soon, the book being shared here. If I can reach beyond that goal, the money will go to support the publication of other stories and to, maybe, help me build a writing space that I can invite other authors to use with me.

What Do You Get?
Every Patreon supporter will be able to read the monthly exchanges between our couple. There will be at least one exchange between them, but that will likely increase over time. You will also be able to read updates about where all my stories and publications are in their journeys from idea to book and the research being done to write all my books. Everyone will be thanked in the acknowledgments of the final book and get a letter from me to thank you for your support.
Higher levels of support will include bonus short stories from other works. For example, stories I write as bonus content for my novels, short stories I write to help me understand elements of Write Soon's characters or stories I think could be saved for something else. Higher levels will have approval over the cover, the trailer, and other details related to the production of the final book.

What Comes After Write Soon?
This is the question I keep asking myself! When this is done, there will be the ability for me to share the next novel with readers, chapter by chapter. There's also thematic short story collections: personal essays, horror, and more romance. There are other romance novellas about modern, secular, Jewish women. But those will all be bonus content. The project coming in year 2 is called New Devil, which will be the introduction to a fantasy/romance series I've been working on for years.
