Hi. I'm Sandra Ann Miller, an independent author (A Sassy Little Guide to Getting Over Him and the Young Adult Edition of it, and novels Chain-Smoking Vegetarians and Other Annoyances in L.A. and Temporary) who became a podcaster during the pandemic. Nice to meet you!

Early on in the lockdown, I had a real need to connect with people and have conversations that meant something. To talk about things that can be uncomfortable in a real way. The kinds of conversations I would have with friends during happy hour...if hours like that were still a thing. I believe there's nothing better than getting over the sh...tuff that holds us back, and we have been through an awful lot of sh...tuff recently.

On this weekly podcast, I talk to experts, celebrities and every-day people about circumstances, situations or behaviors we can overcome, shift perspective on or learn to accept and, by doing that, come through it happier, healthier, stronger and sassier for it. The conversations we're having are insightful, inspirational and, sometimes, pretty dang funny.

If you've read my first book, you'll be familiar with my humor and heart. I prefer to cut to the chase to get to the nugget, ask questions to get us thinking, and throw in a wink and a nudge every now and then if we're taking ourselves too seriously or getting stuck. I'll be honest: I didn't really listen to podcasts before deciding to do one. (Yes, I sometimes forget to check to see if the pool is full of water before I dive in.) I'm also sort of shy and an introvert. So a podcast was a totally natural move, right? I have to say, I'm happily surprised by—and utterly gooey over—how fulfilling this podcast is. I've been very fortunate with guests who've been generous with their time and willingness to be so open. It thrills me to no end to connect with listeners and hear their feedback.
