About Saul Sugarman

I’m a longtime journalist and multimedia producer, finding my niche some time ago after departing several daily newsrooms.

Lately, I am a columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, covering cocktails and nightlife. I also make apparel, with accessories worn in music videos, commercials, and on Miley Cyrus. 2020 saw the expansion of the Sugarman Apparel brand: I currently partner with Knobs, a boutique in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood, to manufacture my original designs and to sell their work, too.

In 2019, I wrote a book— specifically, a gay Haggadah. The project inspired me to continue book writing, and right now, I’m working on my next two: turning my cocktail column and this series on drag queens into books, when I can.

I began my so-called “public face” producing events in San Francisco, mainly in gaming and glow parties, and I still plan things.
$183.18 of $600 per month
Milestone goal: $600

When we reach this goal together, I will add a new apparel product to my design line-up that patrons vote and decide on.
