About Michael

What is Sayonara?
Sayonara is a full-featured, clear and fast audio player for Linux written in C++, supported by the Qt framework. It uses GStreamer as audio backend. Sayonara is open source and uses the GPLv3 license. One of Sayonara's goals is intuitive and easy usability.
It is available for Linux and BSD.

Managing your playlists and libraries
You can manage your library by artists, albums, genres or file paths.

Tag Editor
Sayonara contains a sophisticated tag editor helping you to keep your collection clean.

Playlists
Multiple playlists can be held simultaneously, can be managed and exported to common playlist file formats.

Libraries
With the multi library feature you can manage multiple directories as stand-alone libraries and copy and move tracks from one to another. There are even more complex library plugins like Soundcloud or SomaFM support.

History
Sayonara holds a history of all your played tracks. Access them anytime again and replay long forgotten tracks.

Plugins
Some useful plugins help you to enhance your comfort while listening. Just to mention the equalizer, a speed/pitch control, a crossfader, bookmarks for tracks and a broadcasting function.

Webstreams and Podcasts
You can record all tracks streamed from the internet. Your saved tracks are automatically tagged. When listening to ordinary webstreams, a history of all played tracks is displayed.

These will roughly cover the costs for basic development, handling bugs, implementing new features and provide downloads

  • Server costs (8 euro)
  • Developer tools (ca 5 euro)
  • GitLab: Currently I only have 400 free minutes of CI/CD which is not enough anymore. I'll probably switch to GitHub for 5 Euros per month)
  • Taxes and fees (approx 40%)
