I’ll invest in a couple decent cameras and lights and start making video uploads that people will actually want to watch. I realize that filming in HD means I’ll have to shave and groom myself. I’m willing.

In the nineties, I left two groups who got record deals and decided I would change the world by singing while playing solo fancy-bass. I made a big mailing list, won some awards, and have earned some very nice praise from some very kind people... but that doesn't keep the lights on or the fridge stocked, so here we are. :)

If you like my music, you can help me release new songs by giving me a dollar (or more) each time I do. Art has its value disputed at every turn these days, so your support means more than ever to me.
I AM: UP TO THE 21st CENTURY CHALLENGE OF READING ALL THE WORDS:
Most people reading this know who I am, but in case not: I'm a solo bassist/singer-songwriter. I used to spend all my time touring, but life has ways of making that hard to sustain.
"Not touring" and "making a living from music" have been mutually exclusive for awhile now, so I've thrown myself into teaching full-time. Luckily for me, it turns out that I love teaching... but it is massively time consuming, and I've been trying to find a way to put more time and energy back into creating original music. Enter Patreon.com.
Patreon is a way for fans like you to support my output as an artist in a way that won't break your budget, and on a site that will only charge you when I actually produce something. Your contributions will give me a more stable income so I can devote the time it takes to arrange and produce songs to put out into the world.
This isn't Kickstarter, where you pledge big money to fund big projects like albums and tours. When you become a patron, you pledge just a small amount each time a new song is released.
Every patron will get access to my "patron-only stream" (an avowedly sordid, candid assortment of images, scribblings, music, and stuff I'd usually self-censor before I posted it on social media), as well as downloads of every new song I create. Patrons who want to give a little more can get access to some extras (listed below).
The plan is to release one (occasionally two?) new songs every month. However, you can put a cap on the amount you would like to spend every month so you never go over your budget. You can also change the amount of your patronage or stop contributing at any time.
Becoming my patron is really easy:
1) pick the amount you would like to give per song
2) select your reward level
3) enter your payment information
4) watch me 'splode from creative-juice-overload (and download your new music).
