About

Greetings Programs!

My name is Erykah Fassett, and I am a writer, artist, and consultant that emerged from Lake Michigan sometime in the past century, and exists in a perpetual state of flux. After drifting through a variety of careers including teaching English to Japanese high school students and operating heavy machinery while barely clearing 5'3", I've since settled into a quiet life of project coordination, creative writing, and casual sea witchery. I currently live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a veritable menagerie of three pugs, a cat, and a dictatorial parrot. Don't worry, you'll get to see plenty of them around here!

What I Do:

I've been a freelance writer for a couple of game publishes like Onyx Path PublishingThird Eye Games, and Pugsteady going on two years now, and in that time I've learned a lot not only about the industry, but also about myself and what I am capable of.

If you've ever wondered about what it takes to breakthrough into this tight-knit and competitive field, stick around!

If you've ever been curious about how to turn your love of writing into something more, stay tuned!

Let my own experience give you some guidance on your new adventure! As my mentors believed in me, I believe in you too!

So why support me?

In truth, there are a lot of other creators out there doing similar things, so what makes me stand out from the crowd and worth your hard earned money? I was like many an aspiring writer, waffling for years back and forth, fighting with an impostor who kept putting it in my head that I would not amount to anything.

That was until, of course, an industry peer took me under their wing and gave me the not-so-gentle shove out of the nest that kicked me down the rabbit hole. I want to help others find their bearings and be equipped with realistic expectations about what all goes into being a freelance writer - for better or for worse!

What if I can't afford to support you on a monthly basis?

That is 100% okay! There are a variety of ways to help support content creators you like without breaking your bank, and if you need to take a break from long-term support, you can can purchase any of the books I've worked on via at DriveThruRPG on my webpage, you can buy me some coffee at Ko-Fi to keep me active in the word mines, or you can follow my Facebook or Instagram as well!

Thank you so much in advance for all of your support!
Goals
$20 of $100 per month
Once I reach $100/month,  I'll put out a post of my personal tips and tricks for fledgling freelancers, which includes "How to not alienate potential developers" and "How to punch your impostor doppleganger in the face".
