Monthly Brymstone & Shifters updates
Each comic will get a once a month update. At this point I can afford to devote time to make 2 pages and pay Che for coloring for two update pages, one Shifters, one Brymstone a month. Scheduled livestreams will be bumped up to twice a month.
Bimonthly updates for both comics
This goal gives us enough to afford to draw and color four pages a month, 2 Brymstone and 2 Shifters. Looking at a biweekly update schedule. Will begin holding a monthly contributors Skype Q&A in addition to the bi-monthly live streaming session.
World Building Wed
Each comic will get a "World building Wed" update (on Wednesdays obviously) talking about a particular area, race, culture, or figure within the world of the comic. Both Brymstone and Shifters have huge, detailed worlds behind them with so much material I can't fully share these through the comics alone. I have done these before as filler, but they would become a regular feature. Eventually these tidbits would be compiled into a book collection, available via PDF or physical book.
Once a week updates for both comics.
This will give us enough to produce a page a week and color them for regular updates of Brymstone and Shifters once a week. Schedule will be determined based on times available. This might be a little irregular, but there will be updates at LEAST once a week. Will increase Q&A to bi-weekly with the livestreaming sessions. Will add a "Ask the character" mini comic once a month.
Achievement unlocked: +1 comic
Will use this to hire an artist to begin work on a companion comic to Shifters: Redux that's been planned for a long time but I personally haven't had time to draw.

Hi! My name is Marie Tary, also known as ShadowsMyst online. This patreon was created to help support the creation of my two webcomics , Shifters: Redux and Brymstone.
I've been creating comics for years, but these two have been my biggest efforts by far. Both have fantastically rich worlds with so many stories to tell, and I would like to keep working on them, but unfortunately I don't make any money off them. I've always done them because I'm passionate about them. Each comic page takes between 4-8 hours to pencil and ink, another 3-4 hours to color (if Che does it. Double that time if I do it.), and another 2 hours to apply lettering and finishing touches like special effects. That's at least 9-14 hours of work per page! That doesn't include time spent writing/scripting. Some types of pages (action sequences for example) take longer to produce than others.
Unfortunately, the time needed to produce these has limited my ability to create them as I've gotten older and my circumstances have changed. I have had to put a lot more time into other paying work (commissions, design freelance) to make up the shortfalls in living costs and pay for unexpected expenses. The same goes for Che, who previously could donate time for free, now she simply does not have it as a busy animation student in her final year. She simply cannot afford to spend her time on a project unless she's getting paid, and honestly, I don't want her to.
This has led to repeated hiatuses, or outright stalls, which isn't what I want, and I know, dear readers, that's not what you want either. But the reality is, unless this pays something, its a glorified hobby and when push comes to shove, hobbies get put on back burners until they can be gotten back to.
I'd like to change that.
To be clear, both comics are online for FREE and will always remain FREE. They are not going behind a pay wall, or anything like that. Even if this patreon doesn't reach the minimum goals, the comics will be updated, but ONLY as I can as a hobby. But there will be perks and bonuses for those who are willing to help support me to have the time to do them.
The money from this patreon will go to help make up shortfalls in my current expenses so I don't have to take other paying work, as well as going to hire some extra help. With this resource, I can get on these more and progress the story. The primary position I absolutely need to pay for is coloring. My colorist, Che, has been graciously coloring for free, but she's running into the problem as well that she just can't dedicate free time anymore. She has to get paid. I also would like to, long term, add more comics to the site in the same universes, and I would be writing these, and likely hiring other artists to draw them. I would also like to update the website, create bonus content, such as Roleplaying books (like pen and paper, dice n stuff), lore/art books, additional comics, Q&A comics and mini animations. Right now my ability to make promises is only focused on the comics. As things work out, I will add more rewards and tiers if it seems like they are needed.
So, here's where you, awesome people, come in.
By funding this patreon you will help me be able to pay my living expenses so I don't have to take extra freelance, commissions or other jobs that would interfere with making comics. It also will help me get some money to hire more help to make more comic goodness, and as well as adding extra content to the site.
Donor rewards will include early access to new pages, exclusive wallpapers, Skype Q&A chats with myself and Che, exclusive freebees and possibly other goodies as we come up with them.
I hope, if you are a fan of either comic, you will consider supporting me to help get these comics back on track. If you would like to make a one time gift, or do not want to use Patreon but do want to support Shifters or Brymstone, I also accept paypal donations. If you email me, at [email protected], we can work something out.
