I am currently a Freelance Entertainment Writer, with my own website (www.blankpagebeatdown.com) where I review the latest movies, breakdown trailers of upcoming films, report on news, create think pieces about the respective industry's events, as well as cover local film festivals. I also host & produce a Bollywood themed Podcast ( https://audioboom.com/channel/splitscreenpodcast) that compares remakes to their original source material, as well as providing Bollywood news and reviews.
I am also a full-time, permanent father of two girls, passing down the love of movies and Bollywood that my father instilled in me, by teaching my girls about about plot holes, spoiler warning etiquette, the three-act structure and so on. You know, important life stuff.
For me however, being South Asian with a single mother with financial woes, the arts was never a viable career choice. Eventually my passion and frustrating stubborn-ness won out, and I put myself through film school by working 18 hours days and not sleeping. Like, ever!
While an amazing life took over, (great family and kids at 23!) I was never able to leverage my technical education into the career I always wanted; enter the internet! Beginning to blog about movies in 2010, I was eventually able to turn that into a freelance writing career where I create movie and entertainment content through my writing and podcasts, for anyone willing to consume it!
Support me as I try to make my passion into a full time career, while empowering my girls to pursue their own dreams at the same time! And watch a crap-ton of movies. Naturally.
