About Shuddersome Assembly

“The oldest and strangest emotion of mankind is fear, and the strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown...”
-HP Lovecraft

The seeds of Shuddersome Assembly were planted in 2014, when two arts majors turned coffeehouse workers were tasked to create a movie trailer for a fledgling theatre. With what little resources they had, the pair crafted the psychedelic folk-horror Saturnine and never looked back.

Fueled by a desire to deliver an alternative to the “slash and splatter” flicks dominating cineplexes, founders Vincent Santis and Mara E. Nadolski challenge audiences to explore infernal dreamscapes and nightmarish realms, where the line between reality and fever dream aren’t always defined.

2018 marked the release of Origins of the Vampyre, a silent short inspired by the German Expressionist movement of the early 20th century. The premiere played to a packed house on Halloween night, showcasing the hunger from audiences for more than remakes and jump scares.

The core group has grown over the years with the acquisition of cinematographer Brad Barrett and composer Jordan Gilliam both of whom contributed to the success of Origins.

Shuddersome Assembly is dedicated to delivering the best in avant-garde, fantastique, and anything else that goes bump in the night…
