Following a career as a psychotherapist in private practice, I launched a career in photography in 2014, drawing on my experiences as a psychotherapist and mother to inform my practice. My work is an investigation of the psychological, and social landscapes of both myself and those around me. My family and community are central to my work.

The ignition for changing my career was seeing the Louise Bourgeois retrospective at the Tate, I was so moved that I left committed to the creative process. It was though the project on my daughter Alice born with Down syndrome that changed everything and propelled me further into my creative journey. The passion I feel for photography and film making evolved into making work with my daughter Martha and now my son Joseph. The work I do is not entirely confined to working at home, I have other projects, which are primarily portraiture based and working with a 10 x 8 camera.
I’ve attached a short film recently made about my work, which gives a strong sense of my approach to work.
