At the $4 level of support, you will make me feel validated and will increase my confidence and daring in writing. I would conclude that clearly, I was doing something right if there were readers supporting my forthcoming works at a rate comparable to a small cone of Toscanini's ice cream. Mmmmm ice cream. If my writing can bring as much pleasure and satisfaction to a reader as a serving of ice cream does, then the pleasure and satisfaction will be mine. Additionally, the rewards of the $1 and $2 levels of support are included.

In addition to all the benefits of the previous levels of support, at the $32 pledge level, I will become suspicious and somewhat confused. As highly as I think of my own writing, I confess to dubiousness that my writing would be as valued as... as... well, honestly, we're now in to what I think of as "ticket money". Thirty-two bucks will get you inside the building to hear the Boston Symphony or the Tallis Scholars or Sequentia -- the very comparison seems absurd. And yet if that's what my writing means to you, don't let me discourage you. I'll figure at this level of support, your priority is not merely ensuring that I am able to write for your own delectation, but that you feel it important that I write so other people can be edified thereby. Thus I will feel charged, as with a mandate or a mission, and deeply honored. Or (I'll alternatively hypothesize) perhaps you have the good fortune to belong to an economic class where $32 doesn't mean that much to you, it not having a lot of resolution at the scale at which you usually operate -- maybe for you $32 is but ε, a rounding error. In which case, I would be very pleased to accept your rounding errors, which will go a ways to making me feel much more comfortable and unanxious about my own economic situation.

In addition to all the above, I will be frankly perplext why anyone would support my writing to this level, not in the "oh, my writing couldn't possibly be that good, my negative self-construct is being threatened" low self-esteem way which is not generally my style, but in the matter-of-fact, "huh. No, really: what are you getting out of this?" sort of way. You would wholly pique my curiosity at this social riddle. I would become intrigued. Just imagine: the entirety of the search light of my intellect, turned on you, personally. As an added bonus, unlike the previous levels of reward, for this level I will emit actual sound. For instance, I will almost certainly swear in surprise. Additionally, I may burst out laughing in a giddy rapture at the glorious, surreal absurdity of being able, in anyone's estimation, to write what they consider worth $64 per post, reliably enough they will pledge to pay as much for such writing, sight unseen. Not, mind you, that I think there's anything wrong with that if you're so moved.
