This show is a response to the hyper-polarized nature of our modern world, our innate propensity to draw tribal lines in the sand over everything.  Consequently of this tribalism our energy and resources are put into us vs them arguments, rather than discussions on how we can improve our current situation as a species. In supporting this project you're helping create well-researched informational discussions on current issues, how they came to be, and what can be done about them.

My frame of view is that of a Californian Millennial, child of the 1990's and 2000's, who graduated from the University of California system with a degree in Financial Mathematics and Statistics and entered the job market at the start of the 2010's. I currently work in product distribution in the wine industry, based in Montréal Québec.  I do however envision transitioning more time and effort to this project as it takes off.

Due to the sporadic nature of when episodes will be released (especially during this project's infancy) I am only accepting donation's for completed episodes.  This may change to monthly when we get to the point that we're uploading a new episode monthly.

For the Council of Decisions Vote Reward, at least once a year I will go to the Patron's with a series of potential episodes or season ideas for their decision.  These votes will commence operation as Single Transferable Vote Elections with your Patron Tier Determining the number of votes you have

In this show I will delve into various interesting societal challenges from around our world. I promise I will always rigorously research all topics I discuss, and I will provide my sources as exhaustively as I can. If I've made an error or you have any questions, kindly let me know via the feedback link on my website.

My name is Alex R. Anderson, and this is Simple Explanations.
Tiers
Hamster
$1 or more per creation

Hamsters have an inherent appreciation for well researched content and like to support independent producers

Hamsters have the reward of knowing in their core that they're supporting independant journalism, along with having a vote when the Council of Decisions calls for a "Topic Decisions" vote

Unicorn
$5 or more per creation

Unicorn's, like Hamster's, also inherently adore independent journalism.  They are a bit judgy thou, and enjoy providing early critiques to those they hear talking, regardless of the speaker's level of willingness.

Unicorn Tier will get access to the episode rough draft at least one week before the episode goes live, along with all the benefits of the Hamster Tier, but their vote counts for two votes when the Council of Decisions is determining future topics

Rhinoceros
$15 or more per creation

Rhinoceros are really just curvy Unicorn's with poor eyesight, this poor eyesight has developed due to their intensive love of reading late at night and providing their Unicorn critique's on what they've read

Rhinoceros's will get access to the script drafts at least a week in advance of the draft episode going live for the Unicorn's, along with complete access to Unicorn Tier and Hamster Tier rewards.  Rhinoceros's votes count for 4 votes when the Council of Decisions calls for a vote.

Goals
$14 of $500 per creation
When we reach this goal I will be able to invest in better recording equipment, as well as look into creating some sort of sound studio to help balance out the audio quality between recordings
