Hello there! My name is SJ, and welcome to my Patreon.

I'm a writer, illustrator, and historical storyteller. At the heart of things, I'm interested in creating character-driven narratives. My inspiration comes largely from 19th century American history, the sound of the sea, the way light falls through the windows of a lonely house, ghost stories, and old objects that have tales to tell.

Previous projects have included the novel LACRIMORE, an award-winning gothic fantasy about a house made alive by its secrets, and the flawed people who inhabit it. Published 2020.

Current project is GOING TO WEATHER, a long form webcomic of 1840s ghost story set on the stage of the Yankee whaling industry.

By becoming a patron, you’ll be directly supporting this project and my work. Patrons are charged monthly on a pay-what-you-wish subscription, which will grant you early access to comic pages as they're finished before they're made publicly available, WIPS, and behind-the-scenes development.
