About

Mediums that I work in:
digital photography, collage, drawing, acrylics, watercolors, polymer clay, metal & beads (jewelry), fabric (sewing), write stories/feelings/ideas, write comparative pieces about music, various crafts, sculpture, content creator for  Second Life, sweet music playlist maker, etc etc etc...

Just call me a "multi-creative"

Here are the important to know things about me:

I am ALIVE.

I create & I dream fantastical dreams.
I have basic needs and ethereal wants.

I have no singular focus and I love nearly everything.

I have won awards, had books published of my works, been in a number of gallery shows. I was once a semi-famous cam girl. I used to speak at an international convention about living my life openly & publically, creatively.

I am colorful in ways you wouldn't typically associate with that word.

There is no one else like me,
Yet I am easy to relate to.

I put others needs before mine; My biggest weakness and humanity's strength.

3 Things I want in life:

  1. I want is to create what I want and make a living from it.
  2. To make sure my family -is-.
  3. To travel the world, take it in, put it through the machine that is me, and spit it back out in the way that only I can.

I have had formal, scholarly, and outsider training in the many mediums I dabble in.
I have had hands-on experience under the tutelage of my different creatives (formal).
I went to a big fancy expensive art school and dropped out (scholarly), It wasn't worth the cash.
I have progressed so much more on my own and hands-on with others than via schooling. It's amazing the differance has made and I am so very proud of my giant steps in progress.

Here are not so important things to know about me, just labels that help easily describe:

  • I am often ill due to being allergic to everything, therefore unable to work outside the home. My body collected allergies. I seem to get a new one every other year.
  • I am bi-polar (i) and bi-sexual. I also have crazy anxiety and have recovered from PTSD. I am a SURVIVOR.
  • Western astrology Pisces, INFP, Chinese zodiac rooster
  • Buddhist in philosophy, raised Catholic, almost became a nun!
  • I have auditory-tactile synesthesia

Stabilities in my life:

my partner, our home, our 2 dogs and a lovebird, our love, gaming, appreciation of others imaginations and the various forms/mediums that comes in (movies/music/books/cartoons/games/comics/ect) and the uncertainty of life

I have even collaborated with a number of musicians on pieces, using my voice and/or using my words for spoken word over their pieces.
Example:  Deathboy - The First of March

I can not emphasize enough my love for music.

I really am horrible at trying to sell myself. If I was better at it I would be rich. I swear I am really interesting, funny, and ethereal. Since I am horrible at selling myself I asked some friends to describe me and here are their offerings:

"Whatever the medium Sohma is working in, be it canvas, video or an online world, she doesn’t create just “art”. Sohma creates an environment. An immersive experience so rich it’s like living inside a dream- a dream you want keep exploring and never wake from…"
       - as written by artist & fashion designer Lorigami

"I am an alien lost on your beautiful, barbaric, heartbreaking world. I have had the great fortune of seeing the best your people have to offer strangers, and I have taken it into my being to project outward into my artistic endeavors. Please accept these, my offerings, as a visitor bearing gifts to your world and species."
          - as written by Adrien Other who has commissioned many of my works

"The Rosalie I know is too creative for just one world. She is always seven steps ahead of herself in any dance we chance to see. Please situate yourself within her orbit."
        - as written by E.K. Huckaby, award winning painter

"I've followed Sohma's work for over 15 years, and I've done so because of her unique expressiveness and creativity in a wide range of media, for a wide range of themes and meanings. There is a rhythm and melody to her work, from the written to paint to the digital which I'd describe as almost otherworldly, but every jot and tittle! is grounded in experienced reality. I enjoy every new angle I see in what she brings into the world, even things she's seen before, and have had conversations with her ideas that brightened my mind even when she wasn't directly involved after the fact."
        - as written by Scott McDaniel, designerdeist & old friend

"The hands of an ancient, an old soul, crafting the vision of ages to adorn your own personal fairy tale..."
            - as written by Nikola Tharn, friend and fan
"Rosalie's art has a depth and breadth that encompass love, loss, life, and death - a whole gamut of emotions that all circle back to a sense of hope and forward movement. Each piece fits perfectly in my life's timeline and will forever treasured for what they mean and who created them."
          - as written by Emily Singletary, Owner of a number of peices of my art
