Songcraft: Conversations with Great Songwriters is a bi-weekly podcast featuring in-depth career-spanning interviews with songwriters of all genres and eras. With a healthy mid-size reach of about 15,000 listeners, Songcraft was the first podcast of its kind to launch in the US. Reaching 100 episodes in October of 2018, Songcraft has presented conversations with important songwriters such as Lamont Dozier ("Stop! In the Name of Love"), Mike Stoller (“Stand By Me”), Jimmy Webb (“By the Time I Get to Phoenix”), Dan Penn (“Do Right Woman, Do Right Man”), Loretta Lynn (“Coal Miner’s Daughter”), Toby Gad (John Legend’s “All of Me”), Steve Cropper (“The Dock of the Bay”), Siedah Garrett (“Man in the Mirror”), John Sebastian (“Summer in the City”), Beth Nielsen Chapman (“This Kiss”), Desmond Child (“Livin’ on a Prayer”), Lori McKenna (“Girl Crush”), Bill Withers (“Lean on Me”), Billy Steinberg (“Like a Virgin”), Talib Kweli (“Get By”), Bobby Braddock (“He Stopped Loving Her Today”), Don McLean (“American Pie”), Jim Lauderdale (“King of Broken Hearts”), Mark James (“You Were Always on My Mind”), Brandy Clark (“Follow Your Arrow”), William Bell (“Born Under a Bad Sign”), Natalie Hemby (“Automatic”), Mark D. Sanders (“I Hope You Dance”), Randy Goodrum (“Foolish Heart”), Vince Gill (“Go Rest High on That Mountain”), Mac Davis (“In the Ghetto”), Randy Bachman (“American Woman”), Matraca Berg (“Strawberry Wine”), and many others.

Co-hosts Scott B. Bomar and Paul Duncan have established a stellar reputation for doing their homework and not asking stupid questions (OK, hardly ever). Many guests have expressed deep appreciation for the care and preparation that goes into each episode. Tom T. Hall, named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s “100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time,” was so pleased with the thoroughness of his Songcraft episode, he declared it the definitive word on his career and announced it was his final interview.

Both raised in Nashville but currently based in Los Angeles, Bomar and Duncan bring a unique set of experiences to the show. Scott is a former staff songwriter at Sony/ATV Music Publishing. He is a Grammy-nominated writer, researcher, and award-winning author who currently works as the Senior Director of the book publishing arm of global music company BMG. Paul is a musician, producer, and platinum-selling songwriter. He's hit the Billboard charts with singles by Sherrie Austin, Jordan Feliz, Aaron Cole, and Lauren Daigle. Duncan co-wrote four songs on Daigle's Look Up Child album, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart just behind Paul McCartney and Eminem.

At heart, Scott and Paul are the same two music geeks who met in 9th grade, started their first band together, and spent countless hours talking about the minutiae of all things music. They launched Songcraft in 2015 as a forum for everyone from casual music fans to fellow songwriters to pop culture devotees to creative types of all kinds to hear great songwriters in conversation about their influences, the writing process, the stories behind their songs, their experiences in the business, their own love of music, and how they’ve honed their craft. It's a celebration of the lives and careers of the men and women who put pen to paper, hands to keyboards, and fingers to strings to create the songs that inspire, challenge, and entertain us.
