About Jared Karnes

I've always been fascinated by the jewelry aspect of body modification, and the idea that we change our bodies to decorate ourselves with the objects that we desire. Each of these objects has a story, and it encompasses the materials, the processes, and it also includes the maker and their story.

As a maker myself, I'm immensely interested in what makes other makers tick, why they choose to make the things they do, why they use the materials they use, and what inspires and drives them.

I'm Jared Karnes, a 19-year body jewelry industry veteran, founder of Onetribe and Dendrite, and studio sales manager for Tether Jewelry. After so many years of carving stone, I've developed severe carpal tunnel in both hands and my production capability is very limited. I adore our industry and want to see other makers succeed, avoid the problems that I've encountered on my journey, and grow to delight their customers with original works. I'm also nosy and want to know about maker life from their perspective. Please join me as I speak with other body jewelry makers about what they love to do, how and why they do it, and the things we have in common as beautiful humans.
