ABOUT

Soumya Dhulekar is an illustrator based in Philadelphia. She makes comics and animations related to her experiences of being an American immigrant, from the mundane moments of daily life, to issues of racial and social inequality in the US.

Soumya started making comics in 2015, when she moved to Philadelphia and started lying to people that she was a illustrator, consequently landing herself a solo show as punishment. Her most notable comic is My Hindu-American Childhood, a timeline of her relationship to Hinduism from the ages of 5-18. The comic was published in Catapult Magazine in 2017.
