Hello! I'm Gavin, the creator of the SpaceXFleet Updates Project.

What Is the SpaceXFleet Updates Project?
On Twitter, Reddit and my website SpaceXFleet.com, I provide updates, information and insights about the offshore recovery operations conducted by SpaceX.

Since June 2018, via Twitter, I cover fleet movements, mission activities and everything else in-between. In the past, I’ve been able to document all landings and recoveries, helicopter fairing drop tests and sea trials by the ships. The most exciting operation I've covered as part of the project was the failed landing of the CRS-16 booster, B1050, and it's an eventual, unorthodox, return to port.

At the start of January 2019, I launched the long-awaited website SpaceXFleet.com. The website was designed as a central location where people can get all their questions answered about SpaceX offshore operations, find recovery data and look up details of future missions. It’s also been nice to have the support of numerous local photographers who have let me use their photos in such a cool way.

How Your Contributions Help:

Tracking these ships and hosting my website isn't free and often takes a lot of time and sleepless nights! To be able to bring the most useful insights and latest updates I pay for enhanced tracking services to follow the ships far offshore and better visualize data and manage a system to alert to me to fleet changes.

Your contributions can help me cover these expenses and further enhance the content I produce. If we can reach certain funding levels I can purchase more tracking services that will allow me to track multiple ships far offshore, review a larger range of historical data and much more!

Where To Next?
By popular demand, the scope of the project is changing. I now maintain 4 Twitter accounts covering maritime operations by different aerospace companies:

  • SpaceXFleet Updates - The original account that started it all. If you're on this page.. you already know about it.
  • ULA Navy Updates - Tracking United Launch Alliance's Delta Mariner rocket delivery ship!
  • Blue Origin Fleet Updates - The latest updates as Blue Origin builds its rocket-landing ship!
  • Rocket Lab Fleet Updates - BRAND NEW. Electron is going reusable and they need boats and helicopters. Follow along as we all learn more!

With your support, I want to launch a centralized website to cover information about all 4 companies, so that people can easily be pointed towards helpful info that gets them hooked on this!

Thanks for your support!
