The magic and wonder of fairy tales have captured my imagination from when I was a little girl to the so called grown up that I am today. I have always read a lot of fantasy fiction and fairy tale retellings and it has only been through research for my art projects that I have begun to articulate to myself why I find these types of stories so beguiling. For me one of the core ideas in
fairy tales is the idea of transformation, of becoming rather than being. Tales of metamorphoses are hopeful, are creative and have agency. Now, I predominantly cast glass. I sculpt with clay and wax and make moulds. To complement my glass work I experiment with animation, textiles, paper, printing and other image making techniques to create a richer story. I take commission work, produce small objects for retail and make my own fairy tale focused artwork.
