Would you like a free comic book?
We just want to make interesting stories and share them with people. Giving away free comic books changes the dynamic of how we relate to people. When people are expecting a sales pitch it enables us to have real conversations. Sometimes people share with us stories of despair. The offer of a free comic book opens a door for us to speak words of encouragement into their lives. We have given away free comic books at comic book conventions, youth group events, and hospitals. Your support through Patreon enables us to do what we love... tell stories and encourage people.
After beginning our current run of Spiritman, we were at a comic book convention in the twin cities and a young man approached our table. He said, “I have been walking around and praying for God’s presence to be in this place. There is so much darkness. And then I found your Spiritman table. What can I do to support you guys?”
By Selecting one of the reward levels you will help us keep Spiritman Comics available for free on our web site www.spiritmancomics.com. We will also devote 20% of all pledge income toward the printing of comics to give away.
"Because your struggle is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and with authorities and with the possessors of this dark world and with the evil spirits that are under heaven. Because of this, put on all the armor of Eloah that you may be able to meet the evil one, and being prepared in everything, you may stand firm." Ephesians 6:12-13 Hebraic Roots Version
We hope you love the artwork and the story of Spiritman, but more than that, we hope you're inspired and spiritually strengthened. Spiritman comics centers around 15-year old Martin and his friends Cameron and Chelsea as they struggle with what they believe is real and that which they discover actually is real. As they begin to discover the truth about spiritual warfare and their place as soldiers within that war, they begin to see that they are also the prizes to be won by both sides. Spiritman is the exciting journey of these, and many other characters, as the spiritual world begins to blend with the physical, and each must decide what part they want to play.
Spiritman is truly a labor of love. Our desire is to inspire kids of all ages to become more than what they previously believed to be possible. We can all truly be magnificent warriors in God's army, but that is so difficult to grasp in this physical realm where we don't see the spiritual battles and victories on a daily basis. That exciting realm is real and we are all a part of it whether we like it or not. And those glorious victories can be shared and experienced by all of us if we have the faith to see and the discipline to fight.
We sincerely hope you enjoy the comics yourselves and we hope that they touch your lives, but, in response to those of you who are like the young man in Paul's story above and want to know how you can help, we'd also like to offer you a part in this ministry to others. We've had tremendous responses from youth leaders that want to share this message with their kids, hospital chaplains that use our comic to reach troubled teens, as well as many adults who have shared their personal experiences of how these stories have touched their lives. As I said before, it's for kids of all ages. Now, we'd like your help in getting this out to more people. We'd like to give this comic away as much as possible, but we need your help to do that. Comics cost money, not just in printing materials, but in the labor of the artists involved. We've put out 3 black and white comics in 3 years. With your help, we'd like to get to the point where we can put out 1 full-color comic every month. And we want to get them into the hands of kids, teens, and adults who could use them, but not necessarily afford them.
Thank you for your help.
