About Sprouts
We create free cartoon animations for classroom teachers. We use epic images, engaging stories, and ideas for real-life projects to help teachers and students make learning more meaningful. And since our videos are fun and motivating, students tend to remember its content better and feel encouraged to learn more.
“My teacher shared this video with the class and told us we’d be trying it out for a term. I am SOOO excited to learn like this!”, - Shallot Cat commented on The Flipped Classroom
Today already over 30 million students have watched our videos and over five hundred thousand have subscribed to our channel. And as most Sprouts videos contain only cartoons and very little written English, they can be translated easily - in fact, volunteers from around the world have translated our videos into Italien, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hungarian, Hebrew, Thai, and over 25 other languages.
Right now, we are a small team, and the production of each video is a long and expensive process, but we dream big. With your help, we can create a fun, open and truly international curriculum for learners around the world.
HOW YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED
EVERYONE CAN PLAY OUR VIDEOS!
All videos funded by our patrons are licensed under the Creative Commons NC ND license. That means everyone is allowed to play them anywhere for private and non-profit purposes. And private creators are also allowed to edit our videos for personal use unless they re-upload them in a public domain.
Non-profit organizations, government agencies, public schools or private people without commercial interest can use, download and share our videos free of charge. They can also embed them in their online courses or use them for internal training. If you do so, please credit our channel with this link: ”Video by Sprouts: youtube.com/sproutsvideos".
For-Profits can play our videos from YouTube or embed them on their page. They, however, cannot share our videos in online courses, download them for internal use, put them behind a paywall, or use them for any other business-related activity restricted to a certain group of people. If you are interested to purchase a license to play your video, please contact us via our website sproutsschools.com. If you play, link or embed our videos to a public website, please credit our channel with this link: ”Video by Sprouts: youtube.com/sproutsvideos".
HOW DO WE MAKE HAND-DRAWN ANIMATIONS?
Even though our videos are just 3-8 minutes, they do require a lot of different steps and a team of people working together. In total it takes us around one to two months to make just one video, depending on the time we spend on research, the length of the video and the number of revisions it takes.

STEPS IN MAKING A SPROUTS VIDEO
1. Research
2. Scriptwriting
3. Script editing
4. Storyboarding in scribbles
5. Live drawing of actual animation
6. Voice recording
7. Video editing
8. Cover image and title
9. Uploading

This idea presented in the video is indeed simplistic. Simplistic not to be confused with easy. Yes, the process of changing a mindset is hard however with the few easy strategies presented in the video it is possible. - Written by Thompson Falls High School Students

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED
- First, we want to do this full time.
- Second, we want to invite more teachers and scriptwriters so we can cover more topics.
- Third, we aim to build an open platform for students and teachers to access our videos in different formats, languages, with or without music and support each video with instructions for classroom projects.
