Well, my very own Patreon profile and I have no idea what to write. So, I guess I should start with who am I and what am I doing? I am an IT-Security PhD student from Germany and love to build stuff. Since my early years my hobby was to build stuff that is connected and works together. Later, computers became my passion of choice. And because of that I write Free Software in my spare time and provide services with it. Obviously, this software has often a security focus like the monitoring and alarm system AlertR. However, not every project has security as focus like the end-to-end encrypted push notification service Lightweight Push. Because of my IT-Security background, the services and software I design have always security and privacy in mind. This is the reason AlertR works local and does not need to send data to a 3rd party server (like most of the alarm and smart home systems nowadays) and Lightweight Push is a full end-to-end encrypted notification service (most services I found claim they have end-to-end encryption, but they don't). In addition to the software, I find documentation on how to use it equally important. There are a lot of open source projects out there with no real documentation what so ever. I know, writing documentation is not really the fun part when developing something. However, I give my best to document the projects I am working on so that others can also use it too.

What do subscribers get if they support me? Actually, I have no idea what else to give them but the software and services I already provide for free. I took a look at other creators' Patreon sites and there is a lot like 'early access' on their content. I do not think that it will work for me. Since I develop Free Software, the portal I am working with is GitHub. So I do not think that I will have much content on Patreon. Perhaps if people are really interested I could add something like 'we can talk about feature requests' or 'releasing plans on what I am doing next'.

My hope is to get enough subscribers to at least cover the server costs I have by providing free services with my software. However, life is full of surprises. Perhaps more people are interested in what I am doing and willing to support me. Who knows?

It seems you like my projects very much. Perhaps we should talk about upcoming plans and what you think about it. Anyway, thanks a ton for your support.

WOW. Just ... wow! I do not know what else to say. Like I said in the tier before, perhaps we should talk ;)
Goals
$0 of $50 per month
Do you know the feeling when the app or website you are using shows you flashy, attention attracting ads? I hate it. It is just annoying and I do not care what they want to sell me anyway. This is the reason I do not want to add them into my projects. The earnings will help to cover my server costs and therefore keep my software and services ad free.
