The SSR Podcast is creating a podcast for nostalgic book lovers

Hi, bookworms! My name is Alli Hoff Kosik, and I'm the host + producer behind The SSR Podcast (as well as a full-time freelance writer and lifelong book lover). Every week on the podcast, I challenge a guest to reread a literary throwback (think The Baby-Sitters Club, The Phantom Tollbooth, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and James and the Giant Peach) or to experience for the first time a book they may have missed out on when they were in middle or high school. I ask them to spill all the feels and all the opinions about that book on the air. This time, we're all a little bit wiser (yay!) and a lot older (ugh.), and I've found that we have lots to say.

I launched the podcast in June of 2018 and have been running it all on my own ever since. It has been the most rewarding passion project I could imagine, but I'd be so appreciative if you would be willing to support the show in some small way to help offset some of the investments I've made in time and money. Between booking guests, reading books for the show, prepping for interviews, recording, editing, and all of the other things that go into running an independent pod, I spend an average of 10-12 hours per week on the show. My financial costs include my microphone, web hosting, and the purchases of the books themselves!

I have big goals for SSR and want to continue bringing you content that only gets better and better with time (like some of the literary throwbacks we talk about on the show). It would mean so much to me if you would consider lending your support as a patron. There are really fun perks and rewards in it for you, plus you can feel good knowing that you're helping to keep SSR going strong. I'm so excited to continue building this community!

Happy Reading!

Tiers
Matilda Wormwood
$1 or more per month
Roald Dahl's Matilda Wormwood is book-crazed, but since she's still so young, she's more likely to dip her toe into a new experience than she is to jump all the way in. And that's totally great! At this level, you can show your support without spending too much cash.

PERKS:

  • Access to Patron-only feed
  • The knowledge that you're keeping SSR going strong!

Mary Anne Spier
$5 or more per month

Like Mary Anne Spier of the Baby-Sitters Club, you love to lend a hand (and to read, of course). And guess what? At this level, you can be super helpful without corralling a bunch of rowdy kids like Mary Anne always seems to be doing.

PERKS:

  • Access to Patron-only feed
  • An SSR bookmark
  • Input on book selections for upcoming episodes
  • "On-demand" book recommendations via email
  • Free shipping on SSR merch
  • The knowledge that you're keeping SSR going strong!
Jo March
$10 or more per month
Everyone knows Jo as the book lover in Little Women's March family. It can be hard to pin Jo down (which is one of the best things about her), but she'd definitely dig the rewards at this level.

PERKS:

  • Access to Patron-only feed
  • An SSR bookmark
  • Input on book selections for upcoming episodes
  • Free shipping on SSR merch
  • A monthly SSR email newsletter
  • The knowledge that you're keeping SSR going strong!
